The library was established in 1972. The 4200 sq. ft. building opened in July 1993 at 573 Point Brown Ave. N.E. The library was extensively expanded and remodeled in 2019 to 5440 sq. ft.
The building has a material collection for all ages of 22,000 volumes, 3,500 DVDs, and 938 music CDs. There are 15 computers available for public use, two stations for catalog only information , one station to reserve a future workstation, and a self-checkout station. All computers have access to the Internet, Microsoft Office and Publisher and black and white printing.
There are two meeting rooms available for community meetings. The library website, http://oslibrary.info, has information about library services, programs, general information and information about Ocean Shores. The library is part of the City General Fund and also supported by the Ocean Shores Library Foundation and the Ocean Shores Friends of the Library.
