Fire Safety Ban Restricting Land Clearing and Yard Waste Burning

MONTESANO —Effective 12:01 A.M. Friday, July 15th, 2022; With the recent trend of warm and dry weather the Grays Harbor County Fire Marshal’s office and Fire Districts, along with The City of Ocean Shores will be enacting restrictions on outdoor burning in Grays Harbor County.  This restriction includes residential yard waste and land clearing burning on a temporary basis until conditions moderate. All residential yard waste and land clearing burning is prohibited until further notice.

Recreational campfires are allowed if built in improved fire pits in designated areas, such as those typically found in local, county, state parks or commercial campgrounds.   

Beach campfires are still allowed at this time as long as they are 100’ from the Dune grass and less than 3ft diameter.  Please extinguish all campfires with water after use.
