City of Ocean Shores is pleased to announce the hiring of Officer Hynes

Hynes-282x371_in storyOfficer Keegan Hynes started his first day with the Ocean Shores Police Department today, April 19, 2021.

Officer Hynes comes to us from the Seattle Area, where he has lived for most of his life. He also spent about 2 years living in Brazil where he worked as an English teacher. And with that involvement, he became fluent in Spanish and Portuguese.

He has experience as a pediatric special needs aide and childcare provider. He most recently spent the last 3 years working as security at Swedish Hospital where he dealt with patients, families and visitors as well as hospital employees who have a variety of mental, psychological and criminal issues.

He has earned an AA degree from North Seattle College and a BA degree from the University of Washington in Biology.

At a young age, he studied martial arts and competed in tournaments. Now his interest is in body boarding and he is very excited to hit our beach with is board.

Officer Hynes is happily married with two fur babies, who also enjoy spending time on the beach.

Officer Hynes has a Basic Law Enforcement Academy (BLEA) start date of May 5, 2021 and the graduation date is to be established at a later time. We expect to have him back here and on the road, for additional training, no later than early October.
