***UPDATE November 20, 2020***

On Tuesday November 17th, 2020, JBLM (Joint Base Lewis-McChord) began conducting military communications training at the Ocean Shores Municipal Airport. This training shall extend through Friday, November 27th. The training will occur for a longer period of time than was originally anticipated due to technical difficulties. The airport shall remain open during this time.

The City of Ocean Shores will be hosting an event at the Ocean Shores Municipal Airport in November. On Monday November 16th, through the Friday, the 20th, JBLM (Joint Base Lewis-McChord) will be conducting military communications training at the Ocean Shores Municipal Airport. Citizens may see military vehicles or aircraft at the facility. This should not cause alarm; JBLM reached out to the City to request access in advance. The military will be practicing social distancing measures; so, they may be seen in face masks on the property. This is planned training that will not impact use of or the residents surrounding the airport. The City is pleased that we can provide a facility to the United States Army to assist in the facilitation of critical communications training.
