Code Enforcement and Animal ControlANIMAL CONTROL MISSION STATEMENT
Her primary goals are: to protect animals from people and people from animals; to bring pet-owners' responsibility to a new level, which in turn would make both pets and our residents and visitors safer and happier; to be progressive in the city's outlook on animal-related issues. She persists in her efforts to encourage responsible ownership including needed medical attention and to promote spay and neuter of pets which are not intended for breeding purposes. She enjoys working in conjunction with all other animal-related organizations in our area. She has written and will continue to write new codes and present them to the Ocean Shores City Council for their approval so the City can continue to be progressive in regards to animal-related issues. Her focus relating to the Code Enforcement Department is to encourage property owners and tenants to take pride in their property. She is pro-active in gaining compliance with residents of the City in order to enhance the appearance of the City and the accomplishment of that goal. In addition her goals are: to stop those who abandon vehicles, those who create public nuisances and other similar violations of the city code; to actively pursue and follow up on complaints received and the appropriate action taken, ensuring compliance with the city code; and to effectively gain the cooperation of the violators and bring them to the realization that, by conforming to the city's code, their pride and property values will increase. She will continue to write and present code revisions to the Ocean Shores City Council in order to better reflect the wishes of the City's citizenry.
