Coverage - Area of Responsibility

The Ocean Shores Surf Rescue Team and the City of Ocean Shores have accepted the responsibility of protecting the swimmers on a thirteen mile stretch of beach, the North jetty area at the South end of the City and the East Side of the City which includes a large portion of Grays Harbor. In addition, the Team responds to fresh water rescues within the City limits on its lakes and canal system. The team is also available to respond anywhere in Grays Harbor County to assist in rescue efforts. This includes river rescues, Harbor rescues and flood rescues. The Team has assisted the United States Coast Guard on several occasions with rescues efforts inside the mouth of Grays Harbor.
