DIRECTOR OF TOURISM AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT:

This position is directly responsible for the planning and management of tourism activities, operation of the Ocean Shores Convention Center, and planning and execution of the business development activities for the City of Ocean Shores. This position is under the direction of the City Manager.

CONVENTION CENTER MISSION:

The primary mission of the Ocean Shores Convention Center is to be a catalyst to promote and support tourism industry for the City of Ocean Shores business community. A secondary mission is to be a resource for local civic and community organizations.

OBJECTIVE OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT COORDINATION:

• Provide a favorable business climate with attitude, service, and standards that exceed the expectations of our tourist customers.
• Attract new business, retention and improvement of existing business.
• Increase tourism and the attraction base in the City of Ocean Shores as well as the North Beach area.

VISION:

• For the Convention Center to become a point of pride for the citizens and businesses of the City of Ocean Shores.
• To be considered an essential part of the Community by businesses, citizens and visitors.

Ocean Shores new 29,900 square foot Convention Center is only two blocks from the Pacific Ocean, and is designed to host meetings,events and exhibits of all sizes- from 30 to 900 attendees.With 14,700 square feet of flexible meeting space, state of the art communications and audio/visualfacilities,plus dinner seating for 800, the facility is ideal for any type of meeting.
