CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

The Commission shall have up to five (5) members appointed by the City Manager. Terms are six (6) years. Three (3) year city residency required. Duties are to select, appoint, and employ personnel for the Police and Fire Departments as set forth in OSMC Chapter 2.52. Meets as necessary.

LIBRARY BOARD

The Board shall have five (5) members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Term is five (5) years. Duties are management of the Public Library as set forth in OSMC Chapter 2.60. Meets the 3rd Thursday of each month at 12:00 PM (noon) at the Library.

PARK BOARD

The Board shall have seven (7) members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Term is five (5) years. Duties are to advise Council regarding parks and recreational facilities and progress as set forth in OSMC Chapter 2.48. Meets 2nd Wednesday each month at 1:00 PM at the Library.

PLANNING COMMISSION

The Commission shall have five (5) members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Term is six (6) years. Duties as specified in RCW 35A and OSMC Chapter 2.40. Meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday each month from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at City Hall.

Charter Committee
AIRPORT DEVELOPMENT AND OPERATING COMMITTEE

The Committee shall have a minimum of five (5) members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. A minimum of three (3) members of the committee shall be citizens knowledgeable in airport and aviation matters. Volunteers shall be nominated by a selection committee. Appointments shall be made by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The City Council Liaison to the Airport, and a City department head or designee shall serve as ex-officio members of the Committee. The Committee chairperson shall be elected by the Committee members. This Committee shall meet at least once per calendar quarter.

INTERPRETIVE CENTER OPERATING COMMITTEE (ICOC)

The ICOC shall be composed of five (5) volunteer members who will serve a term of five years. Volunteers shall be nominated by a selection committee. The Librarian shall serve as secretary to the Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to provide leadership and direction to the Center in meeting the requirements of its mission. Meets the 3rd Monday at 10:00 AM at City Hall. Interpretive Center Phone Number 289-4617.

LODGING TAX ADVISORY COMMITTEE (LTAC)

The LTAC will be composed of five (5) members appointed by the City Council. One member of the City Council who shall serve as chairperson of the LTAC, two members who are representatives of businesses required to collect the Lodging Tax, and two members who are representatives of organizations conducting activities which may be funded from the Lodging Tax. No one individual may fill more than one membership position on the LTAC. Membership shall be reviewed annually by City Council. The purpose of the LTAC is to provide an open, public process for the allocation of the Lodging Tax and presentation of a budget request to the City Council as set forth in the Charter granted June 22, 1998. Meets as necessary.

Charter Committee
PUBLIC WORKS ADVISORY COMMITTEE (PWAC)

The PWAC shall be composed of nine (9) members, five (5) of whom are unpaid volunteers, two (2) of whom shall be the Public Works Committee of the City Council. The final two (2) members shall be members of the Senior Staff of the City heading the Engineering Department and Public Works Department. Volunteers shall be nominated by a selection committee. The chairperson of the PWAC shall be one of the two city councilpersons serving on it. The vice-chairperson shall be the other city councilperson. One of the city staff members shall be appointed by the chairperson to perform duties of secretary. Term is three (3) years.

RADIO BOARD

The Ocean Shores Radio Board shall be composed of seven (7) unpaid volunteer members who will serve a term of three (3) years and are subject to reappointment. Volunteers shall be nominated by a selection committee, appointed by the Mayor, and confirmed by the City Council. The City Council Liason shall be an ex-officio member. The purpose of the Board is to provide leadership and direction to the Radio Group in meeting the requirements of its mission. The Board meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:30 P.P. at the Canterbury Inn.
